As an authentic Japanese martial arts school, U.S. Taido has continuously kept close relations with the art’s country of origin, Japan.  By taking trips to Japan for tournaments and cultural exchange, our school has continuously stayed close to Taido’s Japanese roots.  Our Taido groups have traveled all over Japan, to places such as Tokyo, Okinawa, Kyoto, Osaka, and Aomori.  Team U.S.A children, teens, and adults have competed well in their tournaments against counties around the world such as Japan, Australia, Sweden, Finland, and Portugal.  An extra special memory of every trip has been the “Home-Stay”, or cultural exchanges, where our members stay with a Japanese host family to get a taste of Japanese customs and unique foods!  Trips to Japan are widely described by our students and their family members as “A trip of a lifetime”, for the immense cultural experience, exciting tournament competition, and for friendships made that last a lifetime.  Since trips only occur every few years, they are truly a rare and special event!!
